I'm looking for some advise from your cruisers.
I am soon celebrating my 50th birthday and I will be sailing with my 19 yr old college son.
We are seroiusly thinking about Windstar from St Thomas. The stops look interesteing.
We are not newbie's or novices to cruises, but we have always been on more mainsteam lines, Celebrity, Princess, RCCL, NCL, Disney, Carnival
We have never been on any thing as small as Windstar
I have read alot of the reveiews. (many are older) and it's a mixed bag of input. Some say it was the worst cruise of their lives, others say the best time. Issues of safety seem to be a concern as well as the staff being very rude to American, expensive tours, expensive drinks, food was boring etc.
We are used to stuff happening at night, the shows, the casino being lively, the bars and have some concerns as to if we will enjoy ourselves and fit in. Can a 19 yr old drink mixed drinks, or just beer onboard?
I don't imagine there will be many other college age kids on the ship, even though it's his spring break week (3/11/06)
Shall we go ??? Will it be great??
I'm interested in hearing from others who have been on a Windstar cruise recently and can let me know if I should book this cruise or stick with something more of the mass marketed mega ships
Thanks for your help and honest opinions. Bowling Lady in CT
