Hi, I'm planning my first-time cruise with Legend of the Sea - Singapore sailing in Nov 2012.. Just today, I found a great offer for "junior suite guarantee" under "w" category on deck 2. From my understanding, it should mean an assignment of a room in category of junior suite or above. But from the deck plan, I don't see any junior suite on deck 2. For the lower deck, I don't think there's a room with balcony.
Now I worry that this could lead to a booking of junior suite without the window (the interior junior suite??). I just want to get the room with balcony. Anyone book the suite guarantee and end up in a room without the window? Any experience with the suite guarantee booking, please share.
I usually will book a balacony guarantee, haven't known you could book a suite. Knowing that you want a balcony, I wouldn't chance doing the suite and not getting a balcony....
The 'W' fare code is for a guarantee suite, but it is not connected to any deck.
This fare code guarantees that you'll have a junior suite or above. And on the Legend of the Seas, all of the suites are on Deck 8 and all have balconies.
Check with your agent and they can look at availability and let you know the possibility of getting a junior suite or what they chances are you might get higher.

This sailing offer the same price for Balcony Guarantee and Suite Guarantee.
Balcony Guarantee is available on Deck6 and Suite Guarantee is available on Deck2. Therefore, I may book Balcony Guarantee to avoid the risk.

Pete, I browsed at Cruise.com - Find the best Cruise Deals and Discount Cruises (Singapore sailing; 3 Nov 12). It shows "Suite - Guaranteed CategoryW-Deck: 2". I checked the deck plan and understand that suites should be on higher decks, didn't find any suites on deck2. That's wierd and made me worry that they gonna assigned me the accessible room that just has extra space. I guess I would just book Balcony Guarantee to avoid the risk.
Suite - Guaranteed
CategoryW-Deck: 2
This category can be booked for a special rate, guaranteed to you. Please note that the category is not associated at the time of booking with a specific stateroom, deck, bedding configuration or other particular settings. The assignment of an actual cabin will be performed during your check-in. The cabin can be anywhere on the ship.
Finally, I booked "Suite Guarantee" and was assigned to stateroom 8548 - the Junior Suite on deck 8. The stateroom had strong vibration which was very annoying. At first I guess the vibration was from the ship engine, but later I thought it was from to jaguzzi or indoor swimming pool on deck 9. That's why they put these stateroom on cheap offer.
Even though most ships always "sail full", they usually keep a few rooms empty in case of issues(water busted on my deck and many rooms were flooded, the worst moved to new rooms though they only had 5 available). If the noise is really a bother bring it up and you may be moved to another room available, which room is extra as an empty spot doesn't matter to them.
My last trip we booked a inside gaurantee and got bunk beds, my roomie complained several times(even though we knew ahead of time that might happen) and though they had to wait until the first port day to make sure no one got on there, we got moved to an outside room for free.
