Looking at the satellite imagery I see a Princess ship at Terminal 2. Does Princess use any other terminals in Fort Lauderdale? We are staying just around the corner on A1A (SE 17th Street.) It seems that as long as the weather cooperates we should have an easy walk to the terminal.

I don't think it's an easy walk shlepping suitcases, and not a short walk at all....Depending, if you are on the staying on the north side of the 17th St Causeway bridge, you could be standing in the heat for a while, as the boats sail under.Take a cab and relax, and get there in comfort. A short ride via cab, but not on foot.

From 17th street, terminal #2 isn't very far a walk and there are even sidewalks to walk on all the way. Entering the port from any other direction when walking isn't an option. I often leave the ship to go shopping when moored at Term #2 or 4 when doing a B2B and have no problems re-entering with my cruise card so I can only imagine that showing a boarding pass would also be sufficient.
This time of year the weather is very nice for a mid morning walk & it's not hot at all.
Maybe you can walk around in there, but I don't personally know anyone who does it on a regular basis. I know they have shuttles for crewmembers to get to the nearby shopping center ( I used to be one of them).

looked like three or four blocks to the terminal (without the fence.) Realizing I can't get them so easily we won't walk it.
In good weather I would feel silly taking a cab such a short distance in good weather. I have certainly walked further in the city and sometimes in airports.

Trip, I'd welcome the ride and look forward to meeting you. I'm willing to be your excuse to go shopping I'm not a recreational shopper myself but the DW would be glad to join you.
Again it looked like we could just cross A1A at the Walgreen's and continue down Eisenhower to 20th Street. I now know that is not the case.
True story, I once arrived at a hotel after dark. The next day called a cab to take me to my client's. the cab pulled out of the parking lot, the long way, crossed the the street and pulled into my client's parking lot. Boy did I feel sheepish. At least it was a long parking lot!

After looking at it again it does seem quite a distance to wheel luggage. If the hotel was closer to the entrance near Eisenhower drive it would be no problem but from the corner of A1A & 17th Street carrying luggage wouldn't be feasible.
Bob, that's funny....In San Juan, right acrosss from the piers, is the Sheraton, it was The Wyndham years go, when some friends stayed there, and they would not roll the luuggage racks, across that street...you had to call a cab, load your luggage, and pay to make a u-ey
Let me add it would be a pleasure to drag you both around with me, to all the good places I have found there over the years
