Irons allowed

I am sailing on the Norwegian Dawn in May. We have booked a Penthouse ane I wanted to know if I may bring an iron on board? If an iron is not allowed how about a steamer??

The question of bringing irons onboard comes up frequently.

It is said that irons are not provided in staterooms on any ship and are prohibited because of fire risk.

What can't I bring onboard?
Passenger is not allowed to bring on board the vessel any intoxicating liquors, or beverages, firearms, weapons of any kind, ammunition, explosive substances or any goods of a dangerous nature, nor animals of any kind, except service or guide animals, provided the passenger notifies Carrier prior to the cruise of his intention to bring such animal and agrees to take sole responsibility for any expense, damage, injuries or losses associated with or caused by such animal...

"any goods of a dangerous nature" is very broad and completely open to interpretation.

I think I will just buy a steamer.... less problems.

That is the best idea. If you really need to irom something you can call and request an iron onboard. They have a few that are setup to shut off on a very short timer.

Also normally they have a day one pressing special for $2 for anything that really did not pack well.

We tried something we learned on this board. Take a dry cleaning bag and cut in 4. Place a piece in between items that wrinkle easily. We packed 6 days before our cruise and flew to Florida. Everything traveled perfect. No need for Downey Wrinkle Releaser either.
