I contacted ItalyLimousine. For 6 people in a Mercedes Minivan, we could have the following 3 tours. Total cost is euros 1440. That is approximately $110 US/person/trip. This seems pretty good to me. The websites for the trips are as follows:
We could vary any of the trips. Just get together and decide. Mrs. G and I would be two. Then anyone else could jump in for any or all of the three ports.
We can organize it or someone else can. Any ideas ?
Hi Goatherder ! My husband & I are on the 9/30 Epic cruise and I've been looking into private shore excursions in Italy because the ones thru the cruise line are costly and probably on large tour buses. The 2 companies I've looked at are AP tours, their Elite shared shore excursion for 80 euros per person of the Amalfi Coast, and Shared Shore Excursions in Italy- they do the Amalfi Coast as well, and in Rome we would do the tour to Orvieto in Tuscany, and in Florence we would do the tour to Chianti. We have been to both Rome & Florence so we want to go to the countryside. The Shared Shore Excursions in Italy tours would be 85 euro pp if there are 8 people going or 100 euro if only 6 people going. This is still less than the tours done thru NCL. For Italy Limousine, I didn't see their prices online unless I missed them, but you must have found their prices- which are very good. But it sounds like you want to see Rome and I'm not sure what you want to do in Florence. We've never seen the Amalfi Coast, so definitely want to do that thru one of these companies. If you google the 2 companies I mentioned, please let me know what you think. If nothing else, maybe we could do an Amalfi Coast tour together ? I also posted a thread on Cruise Critic and had one reply from a lady who wanted to do an Amalfi excursion with her mother & sister, so that could be 3 more people possibly.
Sorry I have not replied. I have been on Cruise Critic and noticed you are on a parallel thread to ours. I have changed my thinking, and joined a group in Livorno for Florence and Pisa. However, I booked a tour with
Tourofitaly Giancarlo and Giovanni excursion-tour drive and guide from Naples port.
We have contacted this very highly recommended small tour company. Check them out on tripadvisor, etc.. They want 400 euros for the day total for 4-6 people (plus lunch) for "Reccomanded full day 8am 5pm Amalfi Coast:Pick up from Naples port". We would like to find at least two more people before we go. If you are interested please reply and I'll send you the Email I received from them, including pictures. We have booked the day already so first come first served. We just need your word to add you. Should be an unbelievable day.
Hi there! I am booking that cruise tomorrow, I am getting on in Rome on the 26th.....I am interested in the amalfi coastline tour.....but not Pompeii....I am traveling solo in one of the single studios....can't wait!
