Default Single? Looking to share a Cabin? POST HERE

Hi GLBT Cruisers:

I thought it would be a good idea to post a sticky for those who are looking for a travel companion, thus avoiding the single supplement the cruise lines charge!

I've seen several posts in the past of guys and gals looking for travel buddies...so if you're on the hunt, please post here.

Thanks!! 8)

Default Cruisemates cabinmates

Thanks, Triton.
When a cruise "deal" comes along and you don't have an available mate, it does help to have a good source to turn to for finding someone compatable to join you.
I am looking into several longer cruises and may need to find a good mate, too.
MAY 8: Holland America's Maasdam; Ft Lauderdale to Montreal, 15 days.
MAY 24: HAL's Westerdam; Alaska roundtrip from Seatlle, 7 days, $399 outside.
July 25; HAL's Maasdam; 35 days roundtrip from Boston across the North Atlantic and back

Check these (or others) out and pm me.

$63/DAY TOTAL: 19-DAY LUX TRANSATL-EUROPE CRUISESHARE W MALE PIANIST - $1197 (Upper East Side)

Male guest pianist (Cole Porter's piano at the Waldorf, etc.) on the 19-day/18-night transatlantic crossing of the beautiful new flagship of MSC Cruises, the "Orchestra" leaving Ft. Lauderdale May 2 (or can board in New York City May 5 or 6 for same price) can take one other person with him for $63 per day inclusive ($1197 total, including all port charges and taxes in an oceanview/balcony stateroom). This is 19 days for less than their lowest promotional price for an oceanview stateroom on their immediately-following 7-day cruise in Europe, as you can see below. It should be a great transatlantic voyage with interesting ports of call in the Azores, Portugal, Spain (2 ports), England and Denmark as well as lots of nice days at sea on an exceptionally beautiful ship with some of the best shows and entertainment on the high seas. Inexpensive air available. Here are the details:

For comparison to the much-reduced prices above of this 19 day/18 night transatlantic voyage via New York, take a look at their current sale pricing for a 7 night cruise, in this case, the cruise following. Note below the price of category 5-6 oceanview staterooms--originally $2400-2800 pp, now $1399-1599 pp plus port charges and government taxes, based on two in a stateroom (otherwise double--100% single supplement), which is about the same as the $1499-1649 pp plus port charges and government taxes for cat. 5-6 staterooms on the 18 night transatlantic, down from its original $2900-3200, above. In addition, the 7 night cruise costs more airfare--round-trip to Europe rather than just one way back, which is quite inexpensive with an air consolidator or internet specials. The current offer to the public is already a tremendous value for such a great itinerary on this elegant new ship. The cruiseshare price $1,197 total, including all taxes, is much lower still. In addition, there may be discounts on tours, invitations to cocktail parties, etc. as stateroom-mate of a staff member. Can board either in Ft. Lauderdale on May 2 or in New York on May 5 or 6--same price. Here's the 7-day cruise comparison:

MSC Orchestra - Northern Europe

62 year old male seeking nonsmoking male cabinmate for 35 day Voyage of the Vikings cruise on Holland America's Maasdam from Boston departing July 25, 2009 returning to Boston on August 29th. Current fare around $3000 (including taxes and insurance) double occupancy for an outside cabin.

Also seeking cabinmate for 67 day Australia/New Zealand cruise departing Settle on September 26th on Holland America's Amsterdam. This cruise returns to Los Angeles on December 2nd. Current fare is around $11,000 double occupancy including taxes and insurance for a double outside. I am hoping this cruise will come down in price before the final payment date.

Both these cruises are excellent opportunities to see unusual destinations WITHOUT the hassle of international flights.

If interested in these cruises or any others, please pm me.

I am a retired airline employee and usually get good discounts on cruises.

Thanks.

I'm really tempted to book this all gay cruise to Mexican Riviera out of L.A. but I can't swing it on my own. I'd like to find someone to share with and preferably not leave it up to Atlantis. I can get a non-com rate of $1655/PP in an E1 which includes all port charges and gratuties.

Anybody interested? You can view the itinerary, etc at the Atlantis Travel site.

I'll need to book soon so let me know!

Default cabinmate for Princess Royal : Rome to Manaus , Nov 09

Hey All,

I'm looking for a cabinmate/ roommate for the Princess Royal Transatlantic sailing from Rome to Manaus (21 days) leaving from Rome on November 28, 2009. It goes from Italy (3 stops) out through Gibralter to Tunis/Carthage, Morocco and Senegal before steaming across the atlantic and up the Amazon river into the heart of the Brazilian jungle!

I'm wanting to book an oceanview (obstructed view is fine with me--I don't have a ton of money) and don't want to pay the huge cost of a single room! I'm a 47 yr old professional partnered GWM (my partner can't/won't take the time off). I don't smoke, don't drink very much at all, but love to travel. I'm fluent in French, German, Dutch, English, plus some Italian, Spanish, Greek, Hebrew, Russian and Chinese, so I could be useful on shore excursions!

I can be outgoing when the occasion arises, but also value quiet time as well. I'm looking for another independent traveler like myself who is courteous and open-minded, eager to learn and live this trip-of-a-lifetime for all it's worth! Age, race, religion, physical abilities/disabilities are no barriers but opportunities.

If this sounds interesting to you, please contact me ASAP!

warmly yours,
Fred in South Carolina (USA)

Default **Fall transatlantic** Male mid 60's wants to share and save

Do you want to cruise to Europe in the fall. I am male, in my mid 60's, non-smoker and love to cruise, I just hate having to pay the single suplement. I have taken nine transatlantic cruises in the past and there is a number of transatlantic cruises that look interesting this fall but I am open to suggestions on any cruise line, I do prefer a cruise that ends in the US. I consider myself very easy to get along with, I am a scocial drinker, enjoy meeting people and enjoy good conversation. I am not looking for some to share the cruise just the cabin, we each do our own thing, depending on the situation.

If you are male, any age and a non-smoker, post a reply or send a PM

Default Monarch of the Seas May 29, 2009

A quickie 3 night Bahamas Cruise out of Port Canaveral? Anyone local interested? It sails on Friday and returns Monday morning. There is special Florida Resident pricing now on OV Cat H (cheaper than Interiors).

I'm checking on pricing thru my TA today where I won't have to pay a commission.

Let me know!

Default Carnival Dream, 12-12-09

Hey guys! I have booked a single cabin and could use a buddy on the brand new Carnival Dream! This will be her second voyage ever out of Cape Canaveral. I'm 47, 6'4", 205 and in fit shape...non-smoker. My sister will be traveling with some of her family, but in their own cabin of course. This is really going to be a spectacular ship!

Default Cabin Mate for Aug 20th Bahama's Cruise

I'm interested in finding a cabin mate for a cruise on the Carnival Sensation. It leaves from Port Canaveral on Thur, Aug 20th and returns Sun, Aug 23rd.

As for me, I'm very down to earth, not a real drinker (once in a blue moon), a non-smoker, more of a laid back (no drama) kind of guy. I'm looking for someone to pal around with, not hook up with. Someone close to my age is better (I'm 39). I definitely have a sense of humor, enjoy exercising, and am non-critical - I tend to get along with most people.

I've been on many cruises and just love going on them. My partner can't go, but I wish to go on a short cruise before school starts.

A little more about the cruise: You'd likely want to fly into Orlando. I'm hoping for the balcony cabin - $369 plus tax. It goes to Nassau.

Default LOOKING 4 CABINMATES: ROYAL CARIBBEAN/CELEBRITY DIAMOND PLUS

Hi guys,

I always love to cruise but my travel budget is limited as I can't always sail myself. I love ROYAL CARIBBEAN AND CELEBRITY as I also been on Carnvial (Junk!). I will be DIAMOND PLUS by my next cruise in July and can match with Celebrity's ELITE. Thefore, with my RCL's Diamond Plus membership, I can use the Concierge Club and Celebrity's Lounge at Micheal's Club, which both clubs, I can access private breakfast (reserved for suite guest, and people like me) and enjoy the evening socal hours (which includes FREE drinks alcohol or not). It is whoever that shares my cabin as it is many of the nice perks to have.

I also can apply for discounts with RCL and Celebrity, up to $250, in which if you share a cabin, it can be divided in half to save on your end as well. Can be applied to anyt sailing date, including holiday as it is not limited to select fares.

Ohh, by the way, I am only 24 years old as I don't mind having to share with anyone (regardless of age, bi, straight, married, ect) except that you CANNOT SMOKE in the cabin.

I have a suite confirmed on Princess Emerald 11/109-11/08/09. My son can't get off work so am looking for cabinmate. I am a smoker, non-drinker, and will smoke on balcony. I am not a drinker because alcohol bothers my M.S. I am completely ambulatory and other than alcohol or fish I am fine. Will consider man or woman. I am a blues lover so will have DVD's and CD;s of Eric Clapton, BB King, Gary Moore, The Eagles, e tc. I am very easy to get along with and have a great sense of humor. Since I have already paid double, I will not require cabinmate to pay 1/2 (total cost of cruise $2600). I don't care if you are straight, hetro, male, female, blue or purple hair. Email me with subject: cabinmate wanted.

Default Older GWM looking for Cruise Buddy

I came accross this thread by accident having already posted on both the Cabin Share site and the Gay/Lesbian Site.

I am 64 years young, now semi retired, healthy, clean, discreet, professional and considerate of others. I usually take 2 Cruises each year mainly because the single supplement eats away at my limited budget. I Cruise mainly on RCL and Celebrity but have been on Holland America also. Am now a Diamond member at RCL and of course this transfers to Celebrity.

I am pretty self sufficient and dont mind cruising alone, but it would be great to meet someone in similar circumstances (gay or straight) who might be interested in sharing the cost of a cabin. I would love to take some of the longer cruises and perhaps to more exotic destinations ( China, Thialand, Singapore, India, South America etc but Transatlantics, Alaska and Eastern Canada/USA are also destinations I would like to consider.

I have already booked Celebrity Solstice Nov 20th Greek islands and back to back with the November 30th Transatlantic Rome to Ft Lauderdale but I am not sure i want to share on this particular cruise. I would think about it. I also have a April 10th Transatlantic (Promonade Inside Cabin) booked from Miami to Rome which i would consider sharing (approx $800 per person) excluding air.

I live in Ontario Canada and while I would prefer someone living closeby so that we can meet, I would consider other offers. The cabin share would be purely platonic (well unless you are really cute, under 40 and love older men haha!). PM me if interested in exploring further.
