It is no more than an hour to Galveston from IAH. You can rent your car at the airport and drive to Galveston or there are shuttles that can get you there.

no more than an hour from IAH to Galveston? It's 60 miles form the beltway to the end of I45 on the island (plus add the miles from the airport to there). You are looking at closer to 1.5-2 hrs depending on time of day and day of the week.
My offer stands for a lift depending on the day/time you need the ride.
Of course I didn't figure in our "non stop roadwork" (that for some reason NEVER seems to get finished ) or the mystery traffic jams that always pop up at I45/I610 (north side), I45/I10, I45/Us59, I45/I610 (south side), the mystery slowdown around NASA, and then of course the crawling down on the island itself. And those are during non rush hour times.
My service for you one way is only $60 and can carry up to 3 adults comfortable with reasonable luggage amounts. That is $60 for all 3 of you. 713-503-7237
