There are several shuttle services available. It is about 2 hours drive. without traffic.

Depending on when you are arriving we may be able to give you a free lift to the island. Weeekends are easy for us most of the time.

Are you a fellow Chicagoan? Always a Cubs fan.

Default IAH to Galveston

It is no more than an hour to Galveston from IAH. You can rent your car at the airport and drive to Galveston or there are shuttles that can get you there.

no more than an hour from IAH to Galveston? It's 60 miles form the beltway to the end of I45 on the island (plus add the miles from the airport to there). You are looking at closer to 1.5-2 hrs depending on time of day and day of the week.

Of course I didn't figure in our "non stop roadwork" (that for some reason NEVER seems to get finished ) or the mystery traffic jams that always pop up at I45/I610 (north side), I45/I10, I45/Us59, I45/I610 (south side), the mystery slowdown around NASA, and then of course the crawling down on the island itself. And those are during non rush hour times.
