I was recently informed about the policy that Disney employes never pointed out a direction for a cruiser with less than three fingers. I had heard also that Disney characters were not supposed to hug a cruiser. Is this true?
A strange myth I heard about Disney culture was that the characters are not supposed to come in contact with customers? I find this hard to believe.
Well, shoreside in the parks, we do a 2 finger point. And I get huggd by Minnie Mouse all the time. As for onboard? I have a friend that teaches the Traditions class for DCL occasionally, next time I see him online I will ask him and follow up for you guys. The character hugging thing sounds kind of urban legendish born out of a couple of frivolous cases brought against the company, but I dunno.

My opinions are mine and mine alone. They do not represent the opinions of The Walt Disney Company nor any of its subsidiaries.
We were hugged, kissed, touched (in a nice way!) by all the chacters. They laughted and danced. I was soo impressed at the level of intereaction between the the characters and my kids. My daugher had a blast holding Jessies hands and spinning in a circle with her - dancing cowgirl style..
