Do you Turducken?

Hi all,
I have always wanted to try the Turducken. What is Turducken you ask? It's a turkey is stuffed with a duck, which is then stuffed with a chicken (all deboned, of course). When I first told my hubby about a Turducken he thought it was some weird cross bred turkey, chicken and duck animal. If you have tried the Turducken? What do you think and how do you cook it?

I have been fascinated with Turducken ever since I've heard about it. I haven't tried it yet. I will one of these days but it feeds a whole lot of people. HAHAHA Its like fowl stuffing.

How about a beefigurickary, a cow stuffed with a pig stuffed with a turkey stuffed with a chicken stuffed with a canary?

You could cut the top off a keg of beer and stick the darn thing on it.

We enjoyed turdunken last year for our family Christmas gathering. My cousin-in-law brought it, already cooked, in a covered stoneware loaf pan. I'm not sure were she purchased it or how long it was baked, but I do know that it was wonderful! I think you should go ahead & try one & let us know how you liked it.

At the same gathering, my cousin from Alaska, brought salmon & cooked it on a cedar board. Also very gooooood eating.

We brought all items for a clam bake, so it was a mix & match dinner, but one that we remember as being very special!!

I have never heard of the turducken sounds interesting. Last year I worked in a school for emotionally and behaviorally challenged kids. The school always did a turkey dinner for the kids and staff. We had quite a few staff who were vegetarians. The food manager was planning to cook a tofurkey for them.

I never had it, but watched Paula Deen, make one. Just too much trouble for one meal although it does make a nice presentation.

There are website where you can buy the tuducken already deboned and prepared. If I did it that is what I would do, then all I have to do is cook it. Here is a Turducken breast.

Turduckens are very common in Louisiana. Only a cajun could come up with such a thing - too much beer while preparing Thanksgiving dinner

We've had them several times but I wasn't doing the cooking, (which is why they call it thanks giving) but as I recall they are baked and come with instructions.

They cost a good bit more than just a turkey but you've got 3 birds. As a matter of fact there was an article in our local paper today about it. Don't kmow if you can access it but their website is

See now I have a Turkey and I have a Chicken but I don't have a Duck. What if I put the Chicken in the Turkey and Ham in the Chicken? But what would I call it? Turchickam?

That just might not be half bad!! I love a good smoked turkey. Those ham flavors will just meld right in to the turkey and chicken. You should try that one.

Kat I have never turduckened, but I once Tofurkeed...that was just a mistake!...Turkey is turkey...tofu is tofu.... never the twain shall meet. It was just wrong!

Now this may sound strange, and it may be due to the fact that I need abotu 5 more hours of sleep, but, you know those little round guys rolling around the bottom of your posts. I was sitting here kind of in a sleep deprived daze and if your vision is a little blurry and your really out of it, it looks like those round things are shooting out of your cats butt.

, I hope I can get some sleep on the airport, because thats just sick and wrong.

A good way to do a simplified version of the californian Turduckham - Turkey breast cutlets, chicken breast cutlet and ham portion. Make individualized servings.

Great Idea but we can't have Duck in the title. So what about Turchicham or Turhamchick?
