Default Celebrity Changes the 1-2-3-Go Special - AMAZING OFFER

I thought perhaps you would find this particular special very interesting.

Celebrity is offering some amazing amenities if you book an oceanview or higher level by February 18, 2013. It was previously announced to expire on January 27, but today they extended the offer.

If you book a cruise to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Alaska, or Bermuda, you get your choice of one of the three amenities. If you book a European cruise, you get your choice of two of the amenities.

The amenities include;

1) Classic Beverage Package; this is worth $101.50 per day for two people
2) Pre-paid gratuities; this is worth $11.50 per person per day
3) Onboard credit; $200 to $300 onboard credit per stateroom

You can check out all the details here; Celebrity 1-2-3-Go Special

And just announced today, if you book a European cruise by February 18th that sails between June - August 2013, YOU GET ALL THREE AMENITIES!! On a 12-night cruise, that's almost $1800 in free money!!

I've never seen anything like this before, so if you've been thinking about doing a Celebrity cruise to Europe, now is the time to book it.

It's an interesting offer but it does seem they raised prices before starting the offer a few weeks ago. Sailing I want is 2200 for inside, that's high even for celebrity.

This really is a great deal if one can take advantage of it.

Aerospace, do you actually know that they raised the rates of your sailing due to the sale? I had been monitoring a number of Celebrity sailings with an eye towards booking on board Summit in March, & not one of them went up after the announcement of the sale. So rather than waiting, I booked to take advantage of the sale & saved some $$$. If there was a change in the cost of your sailing, I would think it is more a result of the bean counters that are always raising & lowering the price due to how a particular sailing is filling.

It's not unusual to see a cruise line raise the rates before offering a 'big' sale. They all do it and it's done all the time.

Had a client who booked a cruise last week and the next day there was a special in which they could get $50 onboard credit per stateroom. So I checked out the rates and found they had gone up $100 per stateroom. Naturally, I gave the client a choice; you can keep the rate you have and forgo the onboard credit, or I can get you the $50 onboard, but your rate will go up $100. Gee, now there's a no brainer!

But I see this all the time because, as your mother always told you, you don't get something for nothing.

Default 1 2 3 sale

I have been watching several longer X cruises and agree pricing is definately up. Maybe not on 7Ners, where competition is highest, but in more pricey longer itins. Find it interesting the 1 2 3 was extended, Means it was not as successful as expected .Excellent opp. on some of shorter itins, especially for first time X cruisers.

It was around 1500 when I first checked about a week before this sale came out. Been hoping to do transatlantic and stay on board but the baltic sailing is to expensive.

Pete, that is the point the other poster was making. The deal is really not that good and a savvy shopper does not fall for this. You just said the same thing he did-just in another way. I agree with him $2200 for an inside even with all 3 bonuses is too much and no bargain at all.

The OP said that Celebrity raised their prices before the sale started, & while I am sure that happened in some instances, I know for a fact that the 5 different. Sailings that I had been monitoring since November did not change before or after the sale was announced. What difference does it make how long the cruise is?? Either the price went up or it didn't. I will guarantee you that cruise lines change their prices constantly according to demand, so any time they have a sale there is going to be someone that swears that the reason the price went up was due to the sale. I think that is hogwash.

If the OP was not happy with the price of the cruise they were interested in, they just have to decline to book. They did not say what sailing it was, but I know that South America, Europe, & Panama Canal sailings. Have been very high, & until they come down, sale or not, it would not be prudent to book them at this time.
