Default Casino chairs.

Just got back off Fascination for first time yesterday. As much as we liked the ship I feel embarrased by mentioning two minor problems. Number one is the low chairs in the casino and the heigth of the slots. After about 10 minutes you have such a crick in your neck it's hard to keep playing you are looking and reaching up at such an awkward angle. The second is that the cigar police have closed the martini bar to cigar smoking. While it is okay to smoke cigarettes in the casino you have to go to starboard forward Lido area to smoke a pipe or a cigar. Other than that and the smallness of the ship
it was great and the crew was fantastic.

I've never know Cigar smoking to be allowed at the Wine bar on any ship.

I just got off the Conquest last week and the smoking policy in my experience is pretty much fleet wide and includes.

All balconies, part of the Casino bar, some slot and table games, Vincents (which is just a lounge on deck 5 aft), Henri's nightclub and the starboard side of open decks. Cigar smoking is only allowed in Vincent's, Deck 10 starboard and balconies.....

I have been on Conquest three times and I believe Vincent's is the little wine bar on the port aft side by the disco? The room where the big piano is one deck down and where they have tea time is where I remember the bar with martinis and single malt scotch. I may have called it a martini bar by mistake. I was on Miracle last December and they had an inside cigar and martini area also. I guess what I am saying is that for a ship to push alcohol with so many bars and allows smoking in public areas what does a little cigar smoke hurt ?

The wine bar on deck 5 aft is called Latour's. The Cigar bar on deck for is still called Alfred's but on all Conquest class ships, cigar smoking is no longer allowed.

I don't actually think any smoking is allowed in that venue anymore. It's where they have moved Karaoke in the evenings. And since you have to go through that lounge to get to the internet cafe, that is what prompted Carnival to totally revamp their smoking policy last year.

I don't smoke anymore, but many of my friends do and they are quite upset over the changes on ships that have the 2.0 upgrades, since you can no longer smoke on either side of the Lido deck. My Crazies friends used to congregate on the starboard side as a kind of casual ongoing M&G place, we call it the "Situation Room".

But now on ships with 2.0 you can only smoke on deck 10 or the deck above the Lido deck if it's a Dream class ship. There is smoking on the Port side of the Lanai on Dream class ships and I think that Cigar smoking is allowed there too.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess the fun times of buying a good " Banned" Cuban Cigar and smoking it on the ship are gone. I have never smoked cigarettes but do like a good cigar with a great single malt scotch. Wonder what is next to be " UPDATED" ?

I think the key for you is to enjoy that Cuban on the Lanai outside the Red Frog....That's where John Heald hosts his Cigar's under the Star's event on Blogger's cruises.

I enjoy the aroma of Cigar and Pipe smoke as long as I'm not just enveloped by it, so I do enjoy sitting just a bit downwind in the evening watching the moon on the ocean and having the sweet scent of fine tobacco wafting past.

Hopefully, the "Updates" have kind of settled down for awhile. The Breeze is the last new ship build Carnival has planned for the foreseeable future. They've said that the Dream class is as large as they plan to go, and since most ships have a 20 to 25 year life span while under the Carnival flag, I'm hoping that changes will settle down for the next few years.

They seem to be concentrating on 2.0 upgrades which will take a few years, so I guess we'll see.......

I use one of the slot's low chairs when I play the table games.

I was on the same cruise. I have to agree the chairs for the slots were too low. Those were not the same as the stools they have on the the Fantasy. You may have seen me in the Casino, I was the red headed guy that won the slot tournament.
