I can't help you , but I'll be watching for experienced cruiser's answers! We'd love to fly to Europe and cruise back, but the cost of flying is more than the cost of the cruise ! One way flight's are ridiculously priced, IMHO.

Check what the cruise line airfare is. Quite often they actually have a decent fare for International flights.

You can also check Qixo, Cheap Tickets, Orbitz and the regular airline websites.

When I find a price I can live with I book it and don't go back and see if it has gone down. (unless it's a refundable fare) It only aggravates you.

Take care and have a great cruise.
Mike

This really does depend on when the flight is, how much luggage you expect to have, whether you are willing to change airlines en-route, and whether you are looking for direct flights.

Take a look at the airport website (http://www.europe-airports.com/italy...?code=VCE) for ideas of route oprions AA fly Venice to Madrid & onto the USA, whilst UA fly via Frankfurt

If you are happy to change in Europe, then both Amsterdam (Schiphol) and London (Heathrow and Gatwick) have several flights a day from Venice, and then on to Houston. This includes budget airlines such as EasyJet, RyanAir or Transavia, KLM, and BA (If they are not on strike).

So look for a few routes, then shop around on line options.

Happy hunting,

Alan & Katrina

I think this is the one situation I would check and see what the Cruise's air fare is.. They may be able to get certain breaks for a one way ticket...Be sure to check with the airline too and see if there is a difference.
