Going Panama Canal and Alaska, any tips from the pros?
Going Celebrity Infinity Panama Canal and then 2 weeks Alaska in April. Any tips on what to see in port, for example excursions that can't be missed? Animal lover so best port for whale watching trips etc would be good. Also into history and active trips not so much shopping or just visiting a beach. Past Celebrity passenger but if anyone has tips specific to the infinity that would be great too.
Ports: Cartagena, Colombia Puntarenas, Costa Rica Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Cabo San Lucas, Mexico San Diego, CA Ketchikan, AK Juneau, AK Skagway, AK Victoria, BC, Canada Thanks! |
I would plan your whale watching for Juneau, either with a ship tour, or check out Orka Enterprises, Capt. Larry...They know their whales..
My first Alaska cruise was on Celebrity Infinity, not sure if she is still doing the same itinary, but it was a wonderful Alaska cruise. |
I've been lucky to see some very active whale watching off the ship itself in Hoonah, Alaska. It was incredible! Alaska has many great bear watching opportunities as well.
The Panama Canal is equally quite the experience. You will surely enjoy seeing that engineering marvel as the ship passes through with just a foot or so clearance on the sides. Enjoy your trip! |
1 foot? No wonder they need a new one.
